The husband is a Union guy--used to do training, etc. We were talking about one of the papers he wrote once--he thinks that when the Air Traffic Controllers caved during the Reagan administration that the beginning of caving and end of Union Power really was cemented. He thinks that had they not done that--but somehow managed to hold on, that the point of unions and striking would have continued to hold validity for the American people. Don't know--but it was an interesting theory to think about, anyway.

The air traffic controllers union's members didn't 'cave in.' Almost all of them were fired by Reagan when they refused to return to work after he'd given them an ultimatum, in which he called their strike 'a strike 'against public safety.' Surprising that a 'union guy' wouldn't know that. Hard to cave in and go back to work when there's no work to go back to.

Best to Missourians everywhere, though.
