I think the implicature of Obama was:
NOT [literally] the offensive rhetorical: Some of you may remember 9/11?
but
the metaphorical explorative: a lot of you seem to have forgotten the
continuing importance of 9/11 and its relatively close temporal
proximity to now.
just guessing of course,
just a [socially retarded?] Canadian, who remembers 9/11 like it was
yesterday and will never forget where I was or how that entire month
went after.
