JE: and for those of you going on holiday anywhere where there may be Germans...

_____

A Dutch artist told me that it's a common problem in the Netherlands. Their response to German tourists asking for directions is often to direct them to the sea.

"Entschuldigen Sie mich, bitte, where is the Rijksmuseum?"

"Make a left and walk straight ahead for about thirty blocks."

Regards,
Eric
Often mistaken for a German tourist in New York
