I'm following your discussion but have nothing useful or even literary to add.  
Meanwhile in the world of rugby, here are headlines.  Judy--if she's still 
around--may choose to comment:

Evans Late Withdrawal for Wales
Rankings Are Irrelevant--Gatland
Burns Ready for "Learning Curve"

Clearly the last one is a reference to our Scottish Poet.  Parsing the others, 
all I can decipher is that Evans the Train has been slow this year to cancel 
the Mayor and Car Dealers' annual outing from 
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
