I wonder what Dante would have done with Saddam.

Or with Bush.  Badly treated and out and out abused children who grow up to have political power and then recreate their childhood traumas in office are not Dante's calling card.  Burn em in hell forever, that'll serve mankind.

Andreas writes, “Lawrence is alone on this issue. Neither the US nor the British government support what happened. Even the Iraqi government is embarassed about the event.”

That was quick work, Andreas.  You asked everyone else already?  I’m impressed.  Not to challenge your polling methods, but I happened to hear a reporter yesterday say that several reporters in Iraq had gone around talking to Iraqis and none of them who answered (the Sunnis said they didn’t want to talk about it) were apologetic.

But, be that as it may, I don’t mind being alone.  I wonder what Dante would have done with Saddam.

Lawrence, feeling grouchy perhaps, but not apologetic
