I've just looked up 'pratfall' in my dictionary and it gives no
etymology, stating merely that a pratfall is "a fall onto one's
buttocks ." This, I suppose, brings us back to 'Pratt's Bottom'.
Anyone know the etymology of 'pratfall'?
