As I returned to sleep I thought, "airplanes." Francis Pratt, born Peru, New
York. Designed a milling machine for the Lincoln Company of Hartford,
Connecticut. With Amos Whitney made gun-making machines and sewing machines
for the Union army. From there it was, of course, a small step to the Space
Shuttle's engines.
Roo Pratt was unknown to me.
