Comrade Professor Smith,
Our long, co-operative search for my thesis topic is at an end. Hours
combing through early twenty first century archives produced nothing on
the Memphis Celtic Revival School and Dishwasher's Aid. All hope of
finding an original pre-revolutionary poem seemed lost. And then
yesterday, in the basement of my liberated mansion, the freon-based
Maytag refrigerator's compressor finally broke. Knowing its value to
the state, I dismantled it and there, just inside the case, I found "In
Praise of the Archives," scribbled out in what I'm sure will prove to
be the poet's own hand. How the work came to this basement will take
all my energy to trace and document, but I have a first clue: oral
traces, showing on the echomometrascope, of two voices, one saying,
"Not drink six beers all in one go? Brilliant!" The other saying
something like--it's a little unclear--"I needed a sign. NOW I can
finish the novel."
What a day for our glorious state!
What a day for refrigeration!
Long live Comrade Geary.

p.s. Is there any record of Saint Geary finishing a novel?
