You know, I've always felt guilty about the Romantics. I've always thought and still do think that I belong among them, but the poetry of the Romantic Movement defeats me. I can't stand to read it -- there are a few sonnets by Keats and Coleridge and Shelley, but overall, I run screaming from their poetry. A long while back, Mad Magazine had a parody of Wordsworth -- Once I Wandered Lonely As a Clod. Apparently I'm not the only one at war with the poetry of the Romantic period.
