You know, I've always felt guilty about the Romantics. I've always thought
and still do think that I belong among them, but the poetry of the Romantic
Movement defeats me. I can't stand to read it -- there are a few sonnets by
Keats and Coleridge and Shelley, but overall, I run screaming from their
poetry. A long while back, Mad Magazine had a parody of Wordsworth -- Once
I Wandered Lonely As a Clod. Apparently I'm not the only one at war with
the poetry of the Romantic period.
