The attacks in Iraq are finally getting into the Green Zone, the highly-defended US compound in Baghdad.
A suicide bombing this morning inside the Iraqi Parliment (which is inside the Green Zone) killed three and wounded at least ten more.
A Canadian newspaper reports: "In one seven-day stretch in late March, there were six separate rocket or mortar attacks, including a rocket attack on March 27 that killed a U.S. soldier and an American government contractor. "
Six rocket attacks into the Green Zone? Did the New York Times notice this?Further info: "On March 29, security forces found two unexploded suicide vest bombs sitting inside a Dumpster inside the Green Zone."
Oh, dear. Not just one. Two. The explosives were obviously dropped off for pickup by the next team. With today's bombing, that's three suicide vests that were smuggled in.
The mice are going in and out at will.Luckily, security measures are working: all news cameras were confiscated immediately after the bombing.
Anyone up for a pool on when the US abandons the Green Zone?It'll be kinda amusing to watch incompetent neocons, politically-appointed GOPers, and Halliburton lobbyists slugging it out with each other and kicking women and children out of the way to grab a helicopter seat.
