Not money. Greed, which is another way of spelling dysfunction. This is standard operating procedure for pharma. Literally, this is how they work. They spend very little on research and put all their money into development, which is to say marketing and distribution especially in the form of "educating" doctors. They even turn down new products (always developed by others) if there's not a big enough of a market for them. But, if the product does take off for some reason, they "develop" it (market it) and take all the credit. And they claim gazillions as tax write offs for their nonresearch and marketing. Tax write offs, taxes, as in what you and I pay in income taxes. Now they're plundering Medicare. Whatever. ----- Original Message ----- From: To: lit-ideas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: 12/26/2005 6:47:00 AM Subject: [lit-ideas] Pharma and AIDS, for "Andy" Just because he doesn't exist, doesn't mean none of his thoughts had merit. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/aids_vaccine;_ylt=AilffPIp3fhJkLNORLvUBEcDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl Money makes the world go round.....
