"Heidegger waxes poetic."

After carefully cleansing the poetic, he allows it to dry. Holding a cloth, he applies the first layer of wax ("ursprüngliche Wachsschicht") to the poetic using a firm, even, linear stroke ("Methodenlehre des linearen Streichens "). This is followed by a second layer of wax ("Ich verfehlte einen Punkt."). Then he allows the wax to set ("Zeitraum des Wachses, das selbst ist"). After the poetic is covered with a deepening opaque gloss, Heidegger applies a chamois cloth to it, rubbing the wax in a rapid circular motion ("extrem schnelle Kreisbewegung") until it has reached its highest possible shine ("der hellste mögliche Glanz von Poesie"). Pleased with himself, he writes about it later that night in his diary.
