One could think that, given his demise in 1975 (at the ripe old age of
93-and-a-bit), Wodehouse would have little to say on the topic of NFT's [for
the uninitiated, that's 'non-fungible tokens' - about which more later], whose
'early history' (according to Wikipedia) began first in 2014.
But no – list members are about to discover that 'Plum' (as PGW to the
initiated is affectionately known) 'had the turf covered.'
I write 'about to discover' advisably, because I have, unfortunately, mislaid
my copy of JEEVES TAKES CHARGE, and so cannot quote verbatim – and who on earth
(or indeed in any other celestial realm) would want to read a paraphrase of PGW?
Why post this at all, then?
Well, list members are requested to serve as witnesses to a sort of 'promissory
note' to myself that this item will not (like so many other would-be missives)
languish for ages in a DRAFTS folder, but will be whisked along its ethereal
way as soon as I find that beknighted (shouldn't that simply be 'benighted?'
... well, since PGW was so honoured, I'll leave the 'k' in) book ...
So 'stay tuned' for PGW's advice on how to make one's fortune with non-fungible
tokens, thus evading the fate-worse-than-death of unremunerative duty as a
private secretary or exile to a dude ranch as threatened by a hard-boiled uncle
...
