Judy:

I quoted that a fatwa had been issued. You jumped to a wrong conclusion and
assumed without evidence that I said CAIR had issued it. The letter I received
referred to it as a fatwa but didn't say who issued it. I didn't question
this. Why would I? Why would I want to defend Islamists or Jihadists. Only
Leftists would want to jump to their defense and accuse people of lying who say
Jihadists and Islamists might wish poor Robert Spencer harm.

I was not initially so defensive that I thought it necessary to cite the
details of an Islamist and Jihadist attack against Spencer -- I mean Spencer is
out there fighting them and that they would attack him in every way possible
ought to go without saying -- at least I thought it should, but here is Judy
attacking me for assuming that Spencer might be attacked. I clarified the
legal action against him and them moved on to the Fatwa. Here is what the
letter said about the fatwa;

"Robert is so good at what he does terrorists issued a fatwa - a legal decree
in sharia law requiring any Muslim to kill Spencer if they had the chance. The
fatwa's closing line is nothing less than bloodcurdling:
"May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two, and
then put them both back, and then do it over and over."
And yet Judy says, "But there has been no fatwa against Spencer. I'll say that
again. There has been no fatwa against Spencer."

Spencer has been threatened legally in such a way that he is going to be
potentially damaged as much as the Hollywood Communists ever were, people
Leftists hold near and dear. And the people in the business, FrontPageMag say
it was a fatwa, but I don't know what would satisfy Judy about that. Does she
want a formal Notary Public to sign off on them? Osama bin Laden issued a
fatwa and he isn't supposed to be able to do that according to some. The
statement under contention is issued in the form of a Fatwa. Front Page Mag
says it is a fatwa. It was apparently issued by RevivingIslam.com.
This if from a site I posted and written by Spencer:

"May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two, and
then put them both back, and then do it over and over again"
RevivingIslam.com is back, so I thought you might be interested in seeing the
reaction they had to my publicizing of their death threat against me. This
material was posted on the RevivingIslam forums in the three days between my
posting the threat and the shutdown of their site -- a shutdown that has now
proved to be temporary.
I expect that most people in this country still don't realize that there are
some among us who pray such prayers and harbor such wishes. I hope that law
enforcement officials are looking out for the people who posted these things,
although no one has responded to my reporting of this material.
The "Jew at Jihad Watch" to which they're referring is, of course, me. I am
honored by the designation, but it is erroneous, and arises from the Qur'an's
depiction of the Jews as the most persistent and clever enemies of Islam.
Jew At Jihad Watch Strikes Again, Claims He's not a Member of RI

May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two, and then
put them both back, and then do it over and over again. May He put this friend
of shaytaan in the worst part of jahannum. Ameen.
And Allah is capable of all things.
All of the following is written by Richard Spencer ash-Shaytaani [that is,
Robert Spencer of Satan] on his Jewish Zionist blog, where he quotes some of
the posters on this board. I've put these quotes into [quote/quote] to make it
easier to read without going to his Hedonistic web site....

So

1. it seems one Muslim did indeed post this on a bulletin board, or send it in
a letter, re Spencer, in or before 2005 (sorry I thought that was a ranting
invention
of yours), *on or before 2005*.

"May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two,
and then put them both back, and then do it over and over"

2. But there has been no fatwa against Spencer. I'll say that again. There
has been
no fatwa against Spencer.

3. *In 2007*, CAIR wrote a lawyer's letter to YAF (see my previous posts), *a
fortiori*,
the 'may Allah...' is nothing to do with that

4. There is no lawsuit. Mike, there is no lawsuit.

Lawrence, you are lying or you have all this totally wrong. Even your own
usual sources --
lgf, jihadwatch, nro, whatshername -- lend no support to your story.

No, you haven't offended my leftist sympathies for anyone or anything, I was
just curious as to why you sent the post. Was it just another rant against
Islamists? That's what I assumed at first, but then you did quote from someone
as if that were evidence of something. -- I couldn't figure out what the
something is. I've never heard of Spencer so I can't comment on whether or not
I think the lawsuit is justified or not. The titles of his books suggest that
he is an intolerant bigot, but one can't go by that, perhaps he was being
ironic. If your motive was to get a good laugh at the idiot who spoke of
ripping Spencer's spine, etc, well, you know, we have Rush Limbaugh and Bill
O'Reilly and Ann Coulter, they have their idiots as well. Trash talking is the
solace of the impotent. I pay it no mind.

  Mike

Well, the point I thought was obvious, namely that the Jihadists aren't able
to make the logical connection; they can't think logically -- or they don't
give a rat's ass about logic. The offense (according to the Islamists) was
that Spencer argued that Islam isn't tolerant, and isn't a religion of peace.
The Islamists responded by the fatwa ""May Allah rip out his spine from his
back and split his brains in two, and then put them both back, and then do it
over and over" which demonstrates Spencer's point. Such a Fatwa is neither
tolerant (they don't want Spencer to write any more such books) and isn't
peaceful. I find this amusing. My point is that it is funny. This is one of
the funnier sequences moving from the offense (Spencer's books and articles) to
the response (which proves the point of Spencer's books and articles).

One of the most active anti-Islamists I've run across is Robert Spencer.
He wrote such books as The Myth of Islamic Tolerance: How Islamic Law Treats
Non-Muslims, Religion of Peace?; Why Christianity is and Islam isn't, The
Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades), and The Truth about
Muhammad: Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion.

Anyway, the Islamists have had enough of him. They've filed a lawsuit
against him: "A powerful Washington, D.C. law firm told YAF that Robert was,
in essence, a hate-filled liar and that CAIR had ordered the law firm "to purse
every available and appropriate legal remedy to redress any false and
defamatory statements that made" at the conference." [sic]

And I suppose to distance themselves from the hate-filled Spencer, they've
issued a fatwa: "May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his
brains in two, and then put them both back, and then do it over and over."

You've got to love their thought processes: You say we aren't peaceful and
tolerant? You can't get away with that: May Allay rip out your spine from your
back and split your brains in two, and then put them back, and then do it over
and over. You've got to love it.

ps: Where did I get this information? I was sent a letter asking me to
contribute to Spencer's legal defense fund. It was in that letter.
