I have had occasion to use:

-Do you mind if I smoke?
-Yes.
-Tough.

In which the initial question was not a considerate attempt to
accommodate the desires of others, but a setup for assertion of one's
own desires. It could just as easily have gone:

-Do you mind if I smoke?
-No.
-Good, because I will regardless.

or

-Do you mind if I smoke?
-What do you mean, "smoke"?
-Watch.

or

-Do you mind if I smoke?
-I'm not sure.
-Good. This will help you decide.
