Subject: [lit-ideas] Re: Obsolete
L. Helm had written that the 1971 OED entry for 'obsolete, reads: "that
which is no longer practiced or used", and was referring to this rumour that
the  online OED version may have changed that to "that which is no longer
PRODUCED or  used." We are happy to learn then, that, for the record, no such
change has  taken place. The positive outcome of the discussion was L. Helm's
philosophical  commentary on the 'planned obsolescence' concept. Cheers.
