Dead cat's in a tree.
Dead dog's in a river.
Why's that, asks the curious anthropologist.
"Hang a dog in a tree and it stinks,"
says the old farmer squatting in his field
thoughtfully chewing his betel,
preparing to spit saliva
bright red as tubercular blood.
True story this.
