Geary quotes a mystic source:

>As Joseph of Arhythmia said
>(Kalakala 32:12-13):
>"12: Wouldst ye float a rusted boat
> in stormy seas? Seek ye out safe
> harbor.
> 13: Then laugheth loudest thee at
> those with no place to go."

---

Some critics - of the neo-sophistic tradition -- consider the text
apocryphal. They note that, while Joseph uses the 'ye' form [plural second
person,
formal] in versicle 12 (and twice: "wouldst ye ...", "seek ye") he abruptly
turns to the 'thee' [singular second person, informal] form in the next
("laugheth thee"). The effect -- whether intentional or not, and, as J. A.
Williamson
notes (_Notes and Queries_, vol 41, p. 87) turns 'the moral Joseph purports
to communicate illogical if not exhilarating -- and smelling of apocryphity.'
Cheers,
JL
