My slim and increasingly unimportant point was that, as per my reading of Nietzsche's unsystematic psychology -- and yes I've read Fred, even passages in German ("Lordy! Gladys, there's an American intromitting discussion in...Gasp...more than one language!"), even listened to some of his bush-league piano music -- people do what they want to do.
