It's always OK to oppose discrimination and prejudice
against members of a group if that group is in the process
of assimilating. Usually this takes a generation or two. If
it takes longer than that, you are dealing with an angry
displaced camp of weirdoes trying to set up a society within
a society. 

That has to be dealt with in the way Mormon polygamy was
dealt with, i.e., withholding all social benefits until the
group conforms to minimal standards of behavior. (President
Buchanan sent the military into the Utah War, and Utah was
subsequently denied statehood until one of the church's
leaders finally "had a revelation from Jesus Christ" that
the church should cease polygamy.)
