"Mut" is courage? Nonsense. "Muttertreu ist täglich neu" can only be translated as "A dog's loyalty is renewed every day."

The film is tri-lingual, in French, English, and German, with
sub-titles, although many of the background comments aren't
translated. For example, one German says to another "Mut hoch"
("Raise the dog high").

'Up the dog,' maybe, but 'Mut' is courage, bravery, audacity, balls, boldness,
or valor, etc. 'Dog' = 'Mutt.'
