The OED defines the mouth as:
"The orifice in the head of a human or other vertebrate through which
vocal
sounds are emitted."
(no mention of its use as a eating organ).
'The orifice in the head of a human or other vertebrate through which
food is ingested and vocal sounds emitted; the cavity immediately behind
this, which in humans and most quadrupeds contains the teeth and
tongue.' [Oxford English Dictionary, through June 2009]
You must have the economy edition.
