clowns all around
prat falls and cat calls
cause knee-slapping guffaws
humanity speaks with many voices
so many choices
except that
I am humanity
whoa!
how ambitious and outrageous
a claim
and yet I do claim to be
this earth
this universe is mine
it was made for me
so many billions of billions of years it took
to perfect the universe enough
that it was fit for me
how can I help but appreciate myself
in light of such universal care and diligence?
you could argue that a hopping frog
puts me to shame when it comes to philosophy
at least he knows what he's doing and probably why
but I prefer the suspense of finding out.
