>>Leftists now rule as well in ... Brazil

Maybe not for much longer. Lula is considered a national joke to Brazilians. The "squid" (Lula means squid in Brazilian Portuguese) has a regime of such monumental corruption you can't even compare it to the US GOP. In the past couple years, he's lost cabinet members, party bosses, regional party chiefs to charges of corruption, jail time, and disgrace.

This incident is famous in Brazil. It happened on live TV.

A famous Brazilian writer of children's books--Yves Hublet--their equivalent of Dr. Seuss if you will--was attending the Brazilian Congress Library on a session about children's books. Hublet is chairman of the Brazilian writer's union.

So Yves Hublet--who looks like Santa Claus and carries a silver headed cane--entered the Congress during the Corruption Trial of Jose Dirceu, former Lula minister and then Brazilian representative. As he sat in Congress listening to Dirceu defend himself with arrogant leftist rhetoric. Yves Hublet lost it.

Yves Hublet, a notable leftist himself, ran down into the Senate floor, on live TV, and began thrashing Dirceu, Lula's politician, with his cane. Santa Claus attacks!

Right now I'm looking at a clipping from "Folha de Sao Paulo" newspaper showing Hublet and his mighty cane. Hublet demands the impeachment of Lula in that article.

The story was a nationwide hit. Hublet became more of a celebrity. In fact, national editorials said that Yves Hublet struck a blow for all Brazilians.

Today, I believe, Lula lost yet another cabinet minister to corruption charges. Will have to check BBC to find out. So much for the noble leftist revolutionaries.
