Plus, among 'Romance philologists' (so-called), things like French,  Italian, 
and Spanish, are referred to as 'neo-Latin' tongues. I wonder who the  first 
to use 'neo-Latin' was. The OED should tell us. Odd, nobody speaks of  English 
as neo-Anglo-Saxon, though...
