I had a problem like that; I was a member of lit-ideas
as judithevans1@xxxxxxxxxxxxx but freelists would not
work with Tiscali. I got posts but could not post,
and the freelists web software bounced everything I
sent it. (Some people and some places bar Tiscali as
it's used by spammers.) So I subbed using this
address instead. That was one of various solutions
available to me -- as to you -- and it's what I did
in your place (as you ask what I'd have done). If I'd
thought I was being excluded because I was me then I
might, I suppose, have tested my idea by subbing using
one of my e-addresses that desn't include my name,
then when posting to the list ID myself.
(NB. I am now again a member using the Tiscali
address -- I'd intended giving this one up, as it's
web-only unless I pay for it -- freelists now works
with Tiscali.)
