Blackberries? Inspired?Delicious, yes, but, oh, my God
the chiggers
burrowing in my crotch
beneath the pale coating of
nail polish believed, rank superstition
to suffocate them

Flash forward to Japanese baker
Bourbon's latest discovery
Boysenberry cookies,
absolutely scrumptious,
berries from New Zealand.
I wonder if Maori boys are afflicted
with chiggers, too.

Could that be the origin of that
stamping thing...
You know...
the one their rugby players do?
