If all you mean is that the war in Iraq has caused more Muslims to join the fight against the West, what's the problem? Intensification of ground war in World War 2 caused more Nazis to join the fight against the Allies.

I think your analogy would only work if the intensification of the ground war
caused more people to become Nazis, and this it clearly didn't. How Hitler
disposed his divisions is an entirely separate issue. If what you have in mind
is that as the war became more desperate for Germany, young boys and the
elderly were used as cannon fodder, again it's moot how many went to the front
(or to man anti-aircraft posts) with great relish, whether from national pride,
or from, in the appropriate cases, youthful hubris.
