My son-in-Seattle added this to an email on another subject.
'Sorry I don't know anything off hand to help with the Gmail issue. A
hunch says that quitting her browser/restarting her computer would fix
it, but suggesting things like that usually red-faces people
unnecessarily. For what it's worth, friends have solved various
problems in using Gmail by choosing the "Use older version" option...'
