Teemu, To add to your joy in our present peaceful world, here is an additional comment from my friend in Iraq: "Interestingly, we have many Croatian, Slovenian, and I think Macedonian troops over here. Most of the old Warsaw Pact (or Soviet Union!) has troops here as well: Poles, Ukrainians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Czechs, Slovakians, Romanians, Bulgarians. I forget who else. Also Mongolians. Apparently all these nations prefer US leadership to a world filled with terrorism." There are about half a dozen on-going armed conflicts I can think of: Iraq, Afganistan, Sudan/Darfur, Kongo, Czechnya, Nepal, Columbia(?). Two, Sudan and Nepal, are showing signs of coming to an end while Sri Lankan one seems to start again. This is due to so combination of following: Trade, democracy, US hegemony, UN. Or advances in diplomacy, increasing wealth and the loss of relative economic importance of raw materials to name a few less often mentioned. Or maybe we are just getting better, Cheers, Teemu Helsinki, Finland
