Listers,

Martin Heidegger, the light of the past century not mentioned in any Monty Python joke known to this subscriber, embarked from theology before settling into philosophy, or _thought_ simpliciter. His religious sojourn was intersting. Brought up catholig, he turned to Luther (also Martin so-called) before abandoning theology all-together. He later remarked that the only thing that could save theologians from themselves is if they would give up their claim that dogma is purely faith based and embrace his (martin's, heidegger's that is) view that all dogma is grounded in _tradition_.

Cheers for Paul, and the carriers of the lit-id torch.

"It makes no difference to me at what point I begin, for I shall always come back again to this. It is necessary both to say and to think that being is; for it is possible that being is, and it is impossible that not-being is; this is what I bid thee ponder." -- The Goddess of Parmenides
