MA at most. And BA really, since the MA came 'by default' only. I don't know of _any_ philosopher of Grice's generation who was a "Doctor". It's J. L. Austin, MA (Oxon) P. F. Strawson, MA (Oxon) Gilbert Ryle, MA (Oxon) G. J. Warnock, MA (Oxon) J. O. Urmson, MA (Oxon). Of course the "Oxon" was otiose and redundant. But used when some of these went to the States, as Grice did. But that's _philosophy_. Recall that the Manchester-based "Austrian engineer" (to use Russell's sobriquet for Witters) got his D. Phil (Cantab) just by reading _sotto voce_ his "Tractatus" that fascinated Black so much. Cheers, JL **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps!
