"HYPOSTATIC UNION."

Grice says that philosophers are into hypostasis, whereas mere scientists --
pace Newton, Hypotheses non fingo -- are into boring hypothesis.

Hypostatic is a Catholic concept in need of analysis. As an Episcopalian, I
NEED that analysis.

It relates to transsubstantiation during service that Episcopalians distrust
but Catholics don't and call 'service' mass.

It also relates to

Raining raining raining
It is always raining

a Great War parody of

Holy holy holy
God in three persons blessed trinity

i. e. the idea that the father, the son, and the holy ghost are in, to use
Geary's phrase, hypostatic union or as I prefer 'unio substantialis.'

Cheers

Speranza
