Odd. My grandmother and her daughters did 'the
washing' all the time. I'm sure laundry and washing
are even closer than ethics and morals.

And what would students know anyway? Last Spring none
of my Wittgenstein students had ever heard (they
claimed) the expression ''living the life of Riley.'
