In footy news, Jeanne d'Arc de Drancy played Nice.  Nice won, one nil, which 
was nice (for some).

And if that doesn't bring Speranza in off his sunny pool-side lounger, I 
recommend the tale of Dionysius Lardner, in Wikipedia.  Read all the way down 
for more good names: Connop Thirlwall, Mary Heaviside, C.V. Walker.  You'll 
also learn that railway travel at high speed is not possible, due to 
suffocation issues.
