that cricket, being about as exciting as chess in my mind, is less of a sport
than curling. But I won’t suggest that because I’m not in favor of high
dudgeon and I actually think curling might be fun to try. I also have
relatives who love cricket and to whom I wish to continue to speak.
The world is my interval clams. I have no idea what Torgeir meant by that
reference. We always ate oranges.
I have long had a passion for sports. I trained with but failed to earn a
place on a squad headed to the Munich olympics. Boy was I eventually happy
about that. I played football for forty years, had a relative who played for
Scotland and have another who plays for Derby County. As you know, I now play
tennis. And yet none of this caused me to become a philosopher. ‘strawdinry.
