Celebrating Halloween's fairly new here -- since it lapsed at the
Reformation -- at least, the Trick or Treat
is (and it costs me more in treats -- for OK children with their parents
-- each year!).  But when I was a child in West Wales we did a baby
version of apple-bobbing that night, I suppose the Celtic Samhain
lingered there.

Halloween's badly timed for us, just days before Guy Fawkes.  I
thought we'd have fireworks all week and both weekends.. but they've
only just begun again
