Bush has let it be reported several times that he supposedly wakes up every morning "wondering if today will be the day." That kind of melodrama was obviously invented by his staffers for public consumption, just as the "Axis of Evil" was created by a marketing speech writer. But neither Blair nor Bush have this thought each morning, and only a moment of reflection will show you so. We all know it's inevitable that al Qaeda will strike again, but how many of us "wake up every morning wondering if today will be the day"?
