As an Arsenal fan it is against the grain to rush to Spurs defence, and it is important to note that the 4-0 drubbing they received was merited, but see: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/apr/06/emmanuel-adebayor-racism-tottenham - in particular, 'a Tottenham spokesman said: "The chant referred to has been previously discussed with the CPS, who do not consider it racist. We shall continue to remind our fans that we do not tolerate any form of obscene or abusive chanting."' Accordingly it appears we may collectively sigh with relief that there is nothing racist about "Your dad washes elephants and your mother's a whore". Perhaps EA should grow skin like elephant. Second, surely it is "elephants Togo" that should have been put in the search engine? If so, there is no reason to suppose the Spurs fans did not do their homework here other than that they are an ignorant, illiterate bunch of goons. Adebayor, born in Nigeria to parents from Togo, scored in the Real Madrid game. The anti racism people are deciding whether this needs to be investigated. Perhaps Spurs fans should enter "elephants, Nigeria" into some sort of search engine? http://www.elephant.se/country.php?name=Nigeria ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
