Robert, Yes, Duffy has introduced a different atmosphere at the river. With the Ridgeback girls there was a lot of nonchalant posing, sniffing, staring, but Duffy is all motion. He is always doing something entertaining or interesting -- although he can pose like Sage from time to time. He is still a puppy. He just turned seven months on December 27th. Perhaps he'll eventually settle down. In which case, I'll be inclined to take fewer pictures of him. Actually, stopping action like the photo you refer to is a function of shutter speed. Film cameras could do that too, if they permitted you to control shutter speed; which film SLRs did. My previous camera, a digital Point and Shoot, HP R717 would theoretically be able to catch action like that, but I had to wait about 3 or 4 seconds between shots. My present DSLR lets me take shots one after the other as fast as I can click the shutter. Thus, if I see some action unfolding, I can take several photos in a row and later select the ones I like. Or, I could set the camera to take multiple shots. Probably there is nothing that has ever been done or ever will be that someone won't be found to complain about it. I was expecting to hear that some on Lit-Ideas had enough of Duffy and the girls. But Donal's is the first complaint of that sort -- if it was a complaint -- and I'm not quite sure that it was. My favorite image is the third in the section 'Hurrah, the River water's gone,' with Duffy on the left leaping at one of the Ridgebacks, who has his left front paw raised. You got them at the decisive moment. I'm impressed by a digital camera that can stop action like that. And Duffy is something else. Robert, on a cold evening _____ No virus found in this message.
