AR: It's not about the offense. Suppose a European newspaper commissioned a painting that shows Mohammed receiving Koran from the archangel. It's done respectfully and tastefully. It's a commemoration of a significant event.

That would enrage the Muslims even more. They don't want any depiction of Mohammed whatsover. They want to tell us what we can't think.

You've been duped Andreas. That's their ostensible anger; but they know that almost ANY non-muslim would look at their "don't-you-dare-portray-muhammed-in-any-way" argument and say "give me a break, it's 2006!".


Their [the people who are bitching and threatening -- not all muslims] real anger is that we can see through their pseudo-religious bullshit to their real personalities -- that they ARE terrorists -- and it angers them so much that they become themselves and start threatening the perpetrators of such actions. It's like if a woman accuses her husband of being an abuser and he hits her to disabuse her of such a notion.
