A "piece" versus a "raving"? How about the democracy of "pieces"? Or the aristocracy of "ravings"?

Chomsky seemed to be very concerned about East Timor when he could blame President Ford for the status quo there. Then when Australia actually did something about East Timor, and made itself a target of al-Qaeda in the process, Chomsky grew strangely silent on the matter.

How does a demagogue like Chomsky deserve to write a "piece" while Steyn writes a "raving"?
