We've discussed these in the past.  News comes today that China's refit of a 
Soviet carrier has been completed.  The world situation is now, according to 
Wikipedia, as follows:


Aircraft carriers by country:
US 11, India 1, Italy 2, Brazil 1, Spain 1, Thailand 1, Russia 1, France 1, 
U.K. 1 (helicopters only), China 1

Notes: Thai one has only one active Harrier jet.  Germany never had an active 
carrier.  The Dutch bought one of Britain's used ones and then sold it to 
Argentina.  Britain is currently building two.  The U.S. has one in reserve and 
three under construction.
