I notice CNN has said not one word about the missing tens of billions from the
U.S. government. Shades of Morris Berman, do they perhaps know that
information like that is not interesting to the American people? Ah, but
Michael Jackson's Money Mess warrants a show by Nancy Grace on Friday. And
'terror' is all but a broken record on CNN. And that they've given not one
minute to the election protests in Mexico. More shades of Morris Berman, can
it be that there really is no left in this country that would support a fair
election over there, since Bush's, the elite's, candidate won? Also
unmentioned is that the U.S. has become irrelevant in Iraq.

Posted to the other list:
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060816/D8JHI3P00.html): "In the dusty plains
of western Iraq, al-Qaida is gaining strength ... "We're in a recruiting war
with the insurgency," said Brig. Gen. Robert Neller, the deputy Marine
commander in western Iraq. ... In Baghdad, U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen.
William Caldwell said Wednesday that al-Qaida was making a concerted effort to
gain legitimacy by promoting itself as a credible organization. The terror
network [al -Qaida] appeals to Iraqis in desperate social and economic
situations while projecting a civic-minded image," he said, adding that
al-Qaida was seeking to build support "from whole tribes rather than individual
Iraqi citizens." On the other hand, U.S. commanders say few insurgents have
shown a willingness to meet with them, much less hold meaningful talks. The top
U.S. commander in Haditha went so far as to ask local leaders to spread the
word that Marines wanted to know which reconstru
ction projects would be safe from sabotage. But insurgents never responded."

And now they want to invade Iran. Maybe they want to be irrelevant in Iran
too? Where is the nonexistent Left in all of this? The Final Phase of Empire
... No mention of that on CNN.
