The main point was that fascism can and indeed typically does arise as a reaction to democracy. Robert Paul suggested an example of Italy to argue that it does not necessarily have to arise as a reaction to democracy. (However Italy had a strong populist tradition dating from Garibaldi.) You, as usually, pick on a triviality to shoot off an irrelevant response. O.K. Robert Paul wrote of color-coding: Surely this was an unsuccessful attempt to manipulate people.
