If, at the end of Clinton's term, someone had suggested the events of 9/11, it would have been greeted with mirth and ridicule, or at best with a reference to the movie, Executive Decision. Traditionally almost, we have disdain for speculations about things that haven't yet happened (e.g., a moon landing prior to 1960, or more recently, climate change).
