Robert cited a story about the 10 Commandments traveling exhibit.

"The monument stood as a potent symbol of their hopes for changing the
course of the nation."

Point well made, Robert. You gotta wonder about these folks. Bush is in
office, GOP Congresspeople heavily indebted to the fundamentalists rule
the legislature, and the federal courts and the Supreme Court are packed
with conservatives...AND STILL they have a need to "change the course of
the nation."

On the other hand, I have yet to read anything remotely as silly as the
section in the teachings of Ayatoleh Khomenei, as recounted in _Reading
Lolita in Tehran_, concerning the proper conditions for devout Muslim
men to have sex with chickens.

Wondering if their chickens died too,
Eric

PS: Okay, Marlena, I'll finish the Jesus the Pirate novel.
