Re: our recent exchange on the shifting fortunes of superstar Mario
Balotelli on and off the pitch. There's more to this story.
According to today's Guardian (

there is a clause in Balotelli's contract that triggers an extension beyond
this summer *only in the case* that his team, Brescia, avoid relegation
from Serie A. Apparently the team is presently at the bottom of the table,
nine points adrift, with twelve games to go. In other words, the chances
are rather slim that Balotelli's extension clause would be triggered in
either case. Is it not rather curious that the team management opens up
termination proceedings with only weeks left of the season?
Just saying.
