The New York Times wedding announcements list educational achievement, who
performed the ceremony and what everyone does for a living, parents included.
Here are some excerpts from today's paper:

Christian Emerson Littlejohn is an analyst at Wingspan Investment Management.
Elaine Yan-Yu Wong is an associate in the leveraged finance group in the
investment banking division of Goldman Sachs. They met at Penn. Dr. Saba
Faranaz is the daughter of Dr. Amena Sultana and Dr. Jahid Ahamed. She married
an Air Force veteran, Captain Kairul Kabir. Erin Carpenter married Kwame
Owusu-Kesse. Mrs. Owusu-Kesse is the chief executive of Nude Barre, an
undergarment company. Maureen Kickham married Alexander James, an associate
producer at High 5 Games, which produces slot machine games. Ms. Kickham is a
vice president and marketing specialist with Citibank. Tran To married Wilson
Tong under Pensylvania's self-uniting marriage statute. She is studying for an
M.B.A. at Harvard; he will get the same degree from Penn. (The parents are: an
upholsterer, a seamstress, a human resources specialist in the Navy, director
of a community resource centre for the disabled.) Bianca Kaprielian married
Deborah Koski. Ms. Kaprieliean is a regional produce buyer for Whole Foods
Market's Northern California distribution center. Ms. Koski is associate
director and senior lending officer for the Nonprofit Finance Fund, a New York
organization, which provides financing and advice to mission-driven
organizations. Margaret Preston Laney and Jeffrey Charles Silver were married
in Calistoga, California. Michael C. Mitnick, a friend of the couple who
became a minister with American Marriage Ministries for the occasion,
officiated. Dr. Christina Siliciano married Enrique Hernandez III. They met
at Harvard. Stephanie Langdon married Taishon Black. His father officiated.
He is the senior manager of broadcast engineering for the National Hockey
League. Dominique Gomez married Mark Wittman. The couple met at Yale.
Allison Zimmer married J. Occhiogrosso-Schwartz. The bride is keeping her
name. Deborah Lapidus, who worked until June in Portland, Oregon as the
outreach director for Climate Advisors, an environmental consultancy, for which
she designed and led Forest Heroes, a campaign to save the rain forests,
married Adam Margolin, director of computational biology and an associate
professor of biomedical engineering at Oregon Health and Science University in
Portland. They met on a Lucky Star Chinatown bus heading home to Boston from
New York. Xela Herridge-Meyer married John Okrent. A founder of XyZ
Cooperative, a business based in New York that helps weavers and other crafters
in Oxaca, Mexico, sell their products, she is also a freelance radio
documentarian. He has taken a job providing medical service for the homeless.
