Re "Gung ho" vs "Gong he" or "Kung ho" or other possible
transliterations: These all point to different ways to transliterate
the sounds of the Chinese characters as they are pronounced in
Mandarin. There are several such systems, and the issue becomes even
more complex if we take into account the variety of possible
pronounciations in other Chinese languages and the transliterations of
them developed at different historical moments for use by speakers of
different European or other languages.
